Squats…oh Squats. Fresh off a nauseating leg workout focused on pyramid sets of squats I read this dandy on Tnation by Bret Contreras. Anyone who has spent enough time under the bar to squat with proficiency can appreciate what a true, full squat can do lower body development. Problem is, most don’t realize how deep a full squat actually is. I have been there when someone has told me to quit with the quarter squats, drop the weight, and get low. Only once I became proficient at a sub-parallel squat did I experience the full results of the explosive power and leg development from the squat.
Depth is of vital importance, more important than weight, reps, or the rest periods between your sets.
